I started this hobby about 5 years ago. I really liked the DIY project, especially at a low cost. I’ve been working on several projects simulator cockpit around a few years ago. Starting from making unfounded cockpit touring cars. This time, I tried to design a car-based F1 cockpit.
My friend once asked for my help to design an F1 cockpit of wood. The project this time I tried to improve it. The purpose of this project is to make F1 cockpit with the smallest cost with no sacrifice in terms of function and aesthetics. Perhaps many people have already done so, a lot better design on the internet, but I will try with my own methods and approaches. Maybe it’s a lot better design and cheaper that has spread across the internet, hopefully this can be an option.
In this project, the design is inspired from the Sauber F1 car. Regarding the measurements, I was as detailed as possible to follow the original. This is so the user can feel how to drive a real F1 car, how a sitting position and the position of view.
I plan to have material from plywood, because the material is easy I get near my house. With simple tools I have, more or less I can easily do it themselves. The tools that I use, for example, jigsaw, electric drill, electric sanding machine, pencils, rulers long, angled ruler, and others. The material is very easy to get, for example: 18 mm plywood, 3-4 cm long wood screws, bolts, printed blueprints and others. You can cut the material using CNC machines.
If you are interested in this project or my other project, requires a blueprint, or have any questions can contact me directly nia my email: firstname.lastname@example.org
By the way, I’m trying to make a mass production with this design. Please stay tuned 🙂
